Her StoryBorn in Washington DC. Dr. Theresa M Bell moved to Hawthorne, NV as a military brat. Dr. Bell experienced an abusive and painful childhood. She married young hoping to escape the cycle of pain but found that she married into an even greater painful experience. She refused to allow the pain in her life to dictate to her what her life would be. She vowed that she would break the cycle that had been the pathology in her family for quite a few generations. She began having children at the age of 23. After her firstborn, she ventured to Las Vegas in hopes of a promising future. Her and her husband began enjoying all that "Sin City" had to offer a couple of newly-weds. They began witnessing firsthand the negative side of the entertainment capital of the world.
They began to experience financial difficulties and living in perverse situations due to gambling and her husband failing to cease his drug addictions. She became drawn to studying Spirituality. Starting with Theology, then moving to astrology, and metaphysics. Philosophy and psychology. |
Theresa Bell desired to make a change in the lives of those who had become less fortunate. She began an outreach ministry which helped many. It was an outlet for her, seeming as though the illusion of Las Vegas was tearing apart her marriage as well as so many of those she had come to assist. She began enduring bouts of single motherhood. Life became a hard struggle. Many trials and tribulations. And hope began to fade.
She could not afford to help others which she so greatly enjoyed. Because she began to experience a broken home. Addictions took the place of love. Her and her husband grew apart. In trying to re-kindle, the hope and the home, they were re-married multiple times. Both bible believing and being raised Baptist, they sought to keep the home together.
Falling into the rut again in August of 2007. After 20 years, all hope was lost, and decided she was better off as a single mother of three. She began to re-structure her life. She enrolled into college and sought to acquire the documents that would prove her certification of the experiences she has already experienced. She studied psychology to understand why she had to experience the behaviors of others as she did. She decided to use the education along with her experience to talk and to mentor others as well as help them to overcome the same types of tragedies in life that she had faced. She began with her own children. Helping them to understand living in a single-parent household and teaching them principles that would develop their character and their confidence. She taught them the word of God and the importance of having a relationship with God. The testimonies of her children’s lives are the representation of who Dr. Bell learned to become. She re-iterated the bond with her family; her mother and two younger sisters and acquired a certain group of friends, whom all became her support system. She forgave many in her heart, including her ex-husband whom she finally divorced a few months later.
With the dead-weight off her shoulders, she began to experience the blessings of God. Life changed dramatically and almost over-night. Her home came together almost effortlessly. Her finances were less of a burden for her. With terrible credit, she was able to go to a dealership and drive off the lot with a decent automobile. She then became hired at the Clark County School District. She fell in love with her life. Her health is better than ever, her children are happy despite their loss, her home has everything it needs, and her friends are like an extended family.
Dr. Bell is currently embarking on an adventure to service her community and be a support system to those whom are going through her previous struggles. She feels that it is her duty to give back so that others can receive the same support that she is ever grateful. She was first ordained in 2015 and has consistently served with outreach ministries in the community. She is the founder of Resilient Truths Human Services. A faith-based, nonprofit human services organization that assist the community in achieving the resources and the education needed to overcome the struggles in their life. The nonprofit is the foundation of a marketplace of services geared to edifying the community. Dr. Theresa M.
